
Dr. An Peischel is a founding director of AGF and served on the Board until she resigned in 2017. She established Goats Unlimited in 1985 and utilizes meat goats for land and stream bank enhancement, fuel load and ladder fuel reduction, riparian area restoration, noxious and invasive weed abatement, and creating flyways for migrating waterfowl. Goats Unlimited practices holistic management, sustainable alternative agriculture, and produces quality Kiko meat goat breeding stock and carcasses.
An lived and worked on a beef cattle/sheep ranch in Uruguay, completed her undergraduate degree in Agribusiness and Economics at Pennsylvania State University, Masters degree in Brasil, and obtained a PhD in Range Livestock Nutrition from Kansas State University. She managed a beef cattle research center for the University of Alaska and has taught at the University of Hawaii-Hilo, University of California-Chico and was the Small Ruminant Extension Specialist for Tennessee State University and the University of Tennessee until her retirement in 2018. An developed and manages the Master Meat Goat Producer program; 1,356 families have been through the program to date.
