Dr. Gurung leads the research and extension/outreach programs of the Tuskegee Caprine Research & Education Unit (CREU), which is recognized for quality research and extension services aimed at limited-resource meat goat farmers and rural clientele. He is an Associate Professor of Animal Sciences at Tuskegee University College of Agriculture, Environment, and Nutrition Sciences where he teaches Goat and Beef Cattle Production, Applied Animal and Companion Animal Nutrition, and Nutritional Toxicology to both undergraduate and graduate students. Dr. Gurung is a member of the American Society of Animal Science, and the American Registry of Professional Animal Scientists (ARPAS). He is also a Diplomat of the American College of Animal Sciences in Animal Nutrition Division. He has extensive experience with ruminant nutrition, feed industry and grazing and forage management, and has worked with NGOs in India, Nepal, Bangladesh and Haiti on small ruminant production programs. He has served an Affiliate Professor of Animal Sciences at Auburn University since 2014.
