Dr. Ken Andries is an animal geneticist working as assistant professor and animal sciences specialist at Kentucky State University. He is also Associate Dean of the College of Agriculture, Communities, and the Environment. He has worked with the meat goat industry for 14 years, specializing in genetics and production records. He started the Goat Herd Improvement Program (GHIP) which helps producers utilize on-farm performance records. In 2019 he assisted AGF with upgrading the GHIP program to meet the requirements of the Mandatory National Scrapie Eradication Program and provide a more user-friendly interface for producers.


He serves on the NSIP (National Sheep Improvement Board) and is part of the Extension Goat Community of practice.
